Our Focus
Our workers’ compensation practice focuses on providing exceptional representation to clients such as insurance companies and self-insured entities, among others. Our attorneys are well-versed in laws that govern workers’ compensation in New York State, and are well aware of the many stakeholders, including the Business Council of New York and the State Insurance Fund, that continue to seek reform in this area. We provide services in Western, Central and Downstate New York, covering the entire state of New York.
Workers’ compensation laws, particularly in New York State, can be complex and these laws and policies can be subject to amendment at any time. Our attorneys know the procedures of the New York Workers' Compensation Board, and are able to handle conciliation meetings, regular hearings, testimony of claimants, employer witnesses and medical experts, stipulation settlement conferences, permanency determinations and Section 32 agreements. We also understand that a good working relationship with Special Funds representatives is of the utmost importance, and we are able to ensure that claims are properly constructed for future Special Funds relief under Section 15-8 and Section 25-a. More importantly, we know that each workers’ compensation matter is different, and that each case requires a customized litigation strategy. We will handle matters from the initial filings, through all required hearings and trials, and conclude with a suitable, cost effective resolution.
Our attorneys have working relationships with a number of experts to assist in developing defenses to claims. We understand the current climate surrounding workers’ compensation law and reform efforts, the priorities of insurers and the need to have these matters resolved promptly.
