BRIAN A. MACDONALD is a 1988 graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in English. Brian received his law degree from Cornell Law School in 1991. He was admitted to the New York Bar in January 1992, and United States District Court for the Western District of New York in March 1992.
Brian's practice focuses on insurance defense litigation, including trial work. Since 1998, Brian has tried over 30 cases to verdict, with over a 90% rate of success (no-cause of action or verdict equivalent to or below settlement offer). In addition to insurance defense litigation, Brian practices in the areas of medical malpractice defense and insurance coverage, handling complex coverage disputes.
Brian and his wife Deanne are busy with their sons Kyle and Dylan, who are avid hockey and lacrosse players. A great lover of nature, Brian has been involved in wildlife rehabilitation and has served on the Board of Directors of a local nature center.
As part of this work, Brian raises tarantulas from around the world and gives lectures about these fascinating creatures. To blow off steam, he rides his Harley-Davidson - but never to court.
