KSLN is pleased to announce that Patrick S. Kenney has been named Managing Partner of the firm
Kenney Shelton Liptak Nowak (KSLN) is pleased to announce that Patrick S. Kenney has been named the firm’s Managing Partner. Kenney, who is one of the founding partners of the firm, is proud to lead the firm’s 23 attorneys and 22 staff members. He looks back at the past 10 years and is delighted at the growth and success the firm has experienced. “It began with a vision of creating a law firm with a different philosophy of practice.” He explains, “We wanted to establish a different culture—one in which our attorneys, our employees, and our clients could thrive. We value the people who work with us, and we value the people who give us our work. It is because of them that we are successful.” Kenney says that KSLN is able to achieve the best possible results for clients because of two distinct qualities that define the firm’s mission—a commitment to unparalleled personal service and the tenacious pursuit of success in the courtroom. He contends that both of these qualities are key to building long-term relationships, and are the main reasons why KSLN has established a reputation as one of the finest firms in the State. He explains that not only has the firm grown in size, “but we have also expanded beyond our headquarters in Buffalo to include offices in Corning, Rochester and New York City.” The firm recently added a Worker’s Compensation Defense Department, headed by Partner, Rob Leary and the firm’s newest addition, Christina Hassler. Earlier in the year, the firm broadened its scope to include real estate, collections and family law matters, including matrimonials, wills and estates, under the leadership of Partner, Shari Jo Reich. Later this year, three more attorneys will join the firm’s Litigation Department. Kenney is proud of the fact that KSLN was invited this year to become a member of the Network of Leading Law Firms (NLLF), a network with members on 4 continents, 20 countries and 26 U.S. states, including the U.S. Virgin Islands. According to NLLF Vice-President Sandra Boyer, “law firms that are invited to join the network are limited to those that subscribe to the highest standards of professional practice and ethics.“ Members of the network can consult with their practice peers in other communities regarding issues facing the profession. In addition to sharing information dealing with substantive practice areas, it encourages discussion between members regarding effective law firm and law practice management techniques and strategies. In addition to managing a successful Firm, Kenney also manages his own successful law practice involving the defense of complex litigated matters. He has more than 25 years of trial experience, and defends product liability, construction accidents, and motor vehicle actions on behalf of local, national and international corporations, and insurance carriers. Kenney’s experience includes complex accident reconstruction, and he has coordinated accident reconstruction, biomechanical analysis and damages experts, in the defense of numerous catastrophic tractor-trailer accidents on behalf of local and national transportation companies. Kenney is one of the most active defense trial attorneys in the Western New York area. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas and NAPSLO. He serves on the Judicial Hearing Officer Selection Advisory Committee for the Fourth Judicial Department, is Director and Legal Counsel for the Insurance Club of Buffalo, and is an active member of the New York Insurance Association where he serves on the education and membership committees. Kenney is also a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, and is a former member of the Buffalo General Foundation and Leadership Buffalo. He has lectured extensively on accident investigation, risk management and insurance fraud. Kenney resides in Buffalo with his wife Katie and two sons, Patrick and Connor. -30- |
