RYON D. FLEMINGconcentrates his practice in litigation including insurance defense, no-fault benefits, family law, matrimonial law, subrogation, and alternative dispute resolution.
A certified Mediator within the Unified Court System of New York State, Ryon handles matters involving child custody mediation, and regularly mediates disputes referred from the Erie County Child and Family Services and the Erie County Family Court. Ryon is a member of the Center for Resolution and Justices Practices and Procedures committee.
A graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York City, Ryon was an active participant in the law school Mediation Clinic, and represented Cardozo School of Law at the final competition of the Representation in Mediation competition in 2000. He also served as the Executive Editor of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution. He was an adjunct professor at New York University School of Continuing education teaching two alternative dispute resolution courses in 2002, and has served as a mentor for voluntary mediators in training.
Ryon is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. He is a member of the Bar Association of Erie County where he served as the project manager for the 2005 Bar Association History publication. Prior to law school, he worked in the publishing industry in New York and was a managing editor at Simon and Schuster.
Ryon is a recent transplant to Buffalo. He and his wife Eileen have settled into north Buffalo. They enjoy exploring the Buffalo/Niagara area, traveling, and attending events at the Albright Knox Art Gallery and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
