Practice Areas:
Self-Insured and Insurance Defense Litigation

WENDY A. SCOTT focuses her practice on personal injury litigation, defending local and national companies in actions based upon the New York State Labor Law while also handling cases involving motor vehicle accidents, property damage and products liability. Wendy began her legal career as a law clerk in a small local defense firm and is a former partner of another local defense firm in Buffalo. Over the past fifteen years, Wendy has gained valuable experience in the defense of all types of personal injury litigation.

Wendy is a 1989 graduate of Vassar College, where she majored in Economics. While at Vassar, Wendy also obtained a degree in Psychology and her New York State certification to teach Social Studies.  While in Poughkeepsie, she interned in the New York State Supreme Court, Dutchess County.  Wendy is a 1993 graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York.

Wendy is a member of the Erie County, New York State, and American Bar Associations. She is a member of the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association and the Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Committee of the New York State Bar Association. She has lectured at and served as statewide subject matter coordinator for New York State Bar Association seminars regarding property owner and premises liability and legal ethics. She has also served as a speaker for the National Business Institute and the Buffalo Claims Association on legal ethics and New York State Labor Law.

Wendy and her husband Tim, an insurance coverage attorney-turned-teacher, spend all of their “free” time attempting to keep up with their two young sons, Daniel and Samuel. Although Daniel is probably no more active than most toddlers, it sure seems that way – at 2 years old he already had a slip and fall resulting in a fractured leg under his belt.  One can only imagine how his younger brother will manage to top that.
